Countdown: Best Metalcore Bands of all Time

Well, I decided to start a trend. Today i'm going to narrow my list down to 10, and this time, its the best Metalcore bands of all time. So, like always, lets get this show on the road.

10: Miss May I

Being newcomers to the genre, Miss May I have proved themseves a worthy band, with some really good album releases such as Apologies are for the Weak.

9: I Killed the Prom Queen

One of my personal favorites, not many people would argue that they are indeed one of the best.

8: Parkway Drive

Well, since Australia's  I Killed the Prom Queen was number 9, lets put more Aussies on here, since they know how to make some good Metal. No, but really Parkway Drive is an amazing band, and most of the

7: Unearth
Hailing as one of the creators of the metalcore genre, and defiantly one that brought it to popularity, is Massachusetts Unearth

6: Trivium

Also considered thrash metal, Florida's Trivium have been a major contributor to the genre, as well as releasing numerous, High rated albums.

5: All That Remains

Being the "leaders" of the metalcore genre in general. They have stood the test of time, although some would argue their more recent albums are not as good as their old stuff. Still, without them, metalcore would not be where it is today.

4: Bleeding Through

Once the biggest West Coast metalcore act, Bleeding Through fell through the cracks later on and now most kids have no idea who they are. However, they are one of the best metalcore bands out there, and fans of them know that they will forever be the best. Long Live Bleeding Through!

3: Shadows Fall

Another Massachusetts native band, they gradually left the genre to pursue more thrash oriented style, but they still left in impression the metalcore genre that is still seen through a bunch of bands

2: As I Lay Dying

After Tim went on trial and got a pretty hefty prison sentence, AILD died. The members went on to form a new band (which is actually pretty good) the amazing As I Lay Dying went away without a whisper to be heard. However, they are still one of the best and some may argue THE BEST metal band.

1: Killswitch Engage.

Have to give it to them. They have been around since the metalcore genre originated. They also have stayed consistently popular and their albums have changed little. With the exception of Jesse leaving then Howard replacing him, then Howard leaving and Jesse re-replacing him. Either way, They are one of the best.

Well there you have it. The best of the best. Keep in mind as usual there are many other REALLY good metalcore bands out there that should be noted. Go check them out, do some research.

Top 15 Best Death Metal Bands of All Time

Well, I decided to do it, Im going to do a Countdown. Yep, a Countdown. I have heard numerous death metal acts, and this is the Best of the Best. In this countdown, I take into consideration, best crappy to good ratio albums, and best sound. So, without further hesitation, here is the Top Death Metal bands of all Time:

 15: Carcass
People will probley stone me for not putting Carcass as number one, but in all honesty, Carcass paved the way for a totally new genre of death metal...Melodic Death. However, that does not stop them from being one Swedish Death Metals, best bands.

 14: Aborted
Being my Favorite death metal band, I had to move them a little further up due to the fact that they throw in a hint of grindcore making them deathgrind, which is another blog in its own. None the less, they are easily one of the best death metal bands out there, and need to be on the radar.

13: Origin
One of the most respected death metal acts of the 2000's, Origin have stayed true to their roots with some added Technicality.

12: Morbid Angel
Considered the Godfathers of the genre, Morbid angel have released some memorable albums and have sealed their fate as one of the best.

  11: Immolation
Immolation is one of the most mature bands out there. Their sound is unique and can be distinqued between any other band in the genre.

 10: Hypocrisy
While some albums are considered Melo-Death, The bands use of intense lyrics and brutal Vocals make them one of the Best Death Metal Acts of this decade.

9: Through the Eyes of the Dead
Taking their name from Death Metal Gods Cannibal Corpse  TTEOTD took, what was deathcore and went straight to the Death Metal genre. The band is known for intense lyrical themes and crazy blast beats and breakdowns. They have not released an album in years and are currently on a "off and on" Hiatus, but fans including myself await their next amazing album

Masters of the Technical side of Death Metal, Nile has forever left a lasting smile of rage on every metal heads face. The band has released a plethora of albums and have stayed true to their roots, making them, one of the best.

7: Necrophagist
Lets give it to these guys. They have been around since the 90's and have one of the most loyal fan followings in death metal. Although some might say they are an underground death metal act, I believe that they are one of the best out there.

Although they only released a few albums, they are some of the best in the genre, and one of my personal favorites.

I Killed The Prom Queen - Beloved: Review

IKTPQ is one of those bands that does not get the respect its deserves. Of course, this is my opinion but I believe it to be true. They have been around for quite some time and aside from Parkway Drive, were one of the first Australian metalcore bands. When metalcore was just starting, it was almost a strictly american form of metal, until the sounds of Killswitch Engage or As I Lay Dying, hit the shores of Australia. IKTPQ came out with two Full length albums and a couple EPs and a live CD until their breakup in 2007.

The announced in 2014 that they were getting back together and were recording new material, but not many people knew who they were anymore. Tons of metalcore bands from all over the world flooded the scene with either electronic music sounds or emo sounds, in the genre. However, IKTPQ shows that pure metalcore is alive, and it can be seen in their third Full length album BELOVED.

From the start, you can tell that this is the IKTPQ from 2004. All tracks seem like you are reliving the golden age of metalcore. All tracks have amazing beats and unique sounds which made me love the band even more. Extremly heavy breakdowns flood the album and add intensity. You can tell IKTPQ took time doing this album, and made sure their music was up to par today. This is a must own for ANY metal lover, from a band that should have never went away in the first place.

Score: 10/10
Heaviness: 8/10

Emmure - Eternal Enemies: Review

I was lucky enough to get my hands on Emmures New Album early... Just kidding, im not that important. However, they streamed the whole album recently and I got to listen to it...

Emmure has been around for a awile now. They were one of the first popular deathcore bands on the scene and are on every tour/festival. Their 6th album "Eternal Enemies" is not their best album to date, but certainly shows how mature Emmure can be.

Each track offers a healthy dose of deathcore, metalcore, hardcore and rap. Leaving you wanting more from each song. I was thrown off by some of the lyrical content in some of the tracks. Most talk about how much the world sucks (which is cool because it does) and some talk about shooting up schools and hoping eceryone dies. The track "Bring a Gun to School" or as its apparently goinng to be called "Untitled" is a harsh song with brutal lyrics. Now, i don't want to say what i think the lyrics mean, cause all bands have their own way of how lyrics are to be portrayed, ill just leave that up to the listener.

All that being said, Emmures new album is a good addition to a healthy lineup of albums by a band that still stays true to the game.

Score: 7/10
Heaviness: 7-8/10

Chevelle - La Gargola: Review

Chevelle is one of those rare bands that do not change a thing in their music. If it works, theres no need to change it. Chevelles new album "La Gargola" is the no exxeption. Most tracks sound like their previous 3 albums but quite often i found glipses of their popular (and in my opion the best) album "Wonder whats next" which is a welcome to an age where hard rock and alternative metal is a dying breed.

Each track is unique and fairly catchy, which Chevelle is known for. La Gargola is a great album from a band that stands the test of Time, and is a must own for Chevelle fans.

Score: 8/10
Heaviness: 4-5/10

Memphis May Fire: Unconditional - Review

I was a huge fan of MMF previous album "Challenger" so I was looking forward to their next album UNCONDITIONAL which just released a few days ago. Listening to the first few tracks, I felt as though the album was just slow to start. However, after I listened to the whole album, I realized that it was a slow album in general. Not in the sense that the music itelf was slow, but that no tracks really picked up like MMF previous albums were. I did enjoy, the positive lyrics of this CD. It had a Christian feel to the whole album without being a Christian album. With that being said, this album was not necessarily a disappointment, but rather a lower end MMF album.

Score: 6/10
Heaviness: 6/10

A Day To Remember: Common Courtesy - Review

ADTR did it right from the begining. They took 2 totally opposite genres and combined them to form an amazing sound that we all can enjoy. Their recent album Common Courtesy, does not stray from what they are and is a great addition to an already good album lineup. The new album has some extremely catchy songs, but some seem not as memorable as the ones seen on Homesick album. I personally love their single "Right Back At it Again" .This is a good release and a must listen for ADTR fans

Score: 7.5/10
Heaviness: 6/10
